Every year from October 1 to December 15, a public call for application is announced through
Porteghal Accelerator’s website, LinkedIn page, and associates as well as direct notices to
universities and research institutes.
Areas of Interest
Selections (January 1 to January 31)
From January 1 to January 31, we review the applications and organize meetings for the startups
to defend their ideas and initial plans. Then we conduct technical and commercial evaluations,
rate them, and select up to 15 startups.
Mentoring and Development (February 1 to November 30)
Based on the evaluations and depending on the level of maturity, each startup receives 500 to 5000
million Rials in seed stage funding, equipment, working space, mentorship and technical support.
We teach the startups the business side of things, empowering them to develop their business plans,
development strategies and commercialize their projects.
Pitching the Final Product (December)
In an annual event, startups pitch their prototypes (products/technologies) in private or public meetings
to an audience comprising of business and industry partners and venture capital investors. The focus is to
get the necessary funds for startups to enter the real business world and complete the commercialization process.
Post-Acceleration (1 Year)
After completing the acceleration program and passing the early growth period and upon entering the
established stage, we offer special one-year support services such as obtaining patents, technology
transfers, planning, implementing and monitoring development strategies, and introducing companies
to international exhibitions. During this phase, monthly board meetings for each startup are held with
the presence of Porteghal Accelerator’s senior executives.
